Hazzard Free Farm Grains & Beans is focused on sustainability first and foremost, whether it is ecological, environmental or economical. Without sustainability, we fail the future. I grow and mill a wide variety of the highest quality heirloom grains grown in the organic tradition and stone ground in the artisanal tradition. The beauty of the local foods movement is transparency and it is of the utmost importance to maintain that transparency as the movement grows. You are invited to visit my beautiful farms with your family or your staff. Farming Practices I do not use treated or GMO seeds ever. My varieties are ancient, open pollinated or heirloom. I use organic foundation seed when available. I do not use CONVENTIONAL chemical fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides or fungicides. I am committed to adapting ancient and heirloom grains to my soils and my farming practices. It can take three to five year or more to do this, these crops are incredibly adaptable over time and well worth the effort. My investment in this process is a risk but it will pay off in the health and ecological benefits to the land, my products, the sustainable farming community and our health.
