About Us
Maple Acres continues the family tradition of "sugaring" in Southeastern Noble County, Indiana. Over 70 years ago the Owen family began the springtime ritual of tapping sugar maples, gathering sap and boiling off in flat pans over a brick arch deep in the sugarbush. Although the equipment has been updated, Bill and Kim Owen, along with other family members (including granchildren Carter, Nate, Charlotte, Ava and Nolan) continue the tradition today.
When the bitter cold of winter gives way to the mild days and cool nights of early spring, it's time for the new sugar season to begin. The fresh sap is gathered and evaporated without delay creating some of the best syrup in North America.
